Our library was one of the first in Taiwan to offer open-stacks, where students could access the books themselves. The original library was completed in 1955. To accommodate our growth a new Library was built in 1985. It is located at the top of our picturesque campus mall, surrounded by trees and green grass. It is the ideal learning environment.
Varied Resources
Our library contains many vital academic resources for students and faculty, as well as leisure reading, and other audio-visual materials. In addition, our Special Collections contains many old books and original manuscripts. The oldest was written in 1140 AD. Each year the library adds over 20,000 volumes and audio-visual materials.
The library has over 1,000,000 volumes in an area of over 13,642 square meters. The Liang-Chien Hall can host academic conferences and other multimedia events.
Electronic Resources
Our library has modern equipment to do on-line research and vital access to other data bases. Through cooperative agreements with other libraries and Interlibrary loan privileges, students and faculty are able to gain access to a wide variety of articles and periodicals.
